Summit Overview

The Crisis Behind Closed Doors

When school culture breaks down, the cost is devastating. Teacher turnover accelerates. Staff wellbeing crumbles. Classroom environments deteriorate, and student learning suffers. Standards slip, accountability erodes, and the weight of wider pressures compounds every challenge.

The question isn't whether this is happening; it's what price we're willing to pay for inaction.

Two Days. Leading Voices. One Hard Question.

Over two days, international keynotes and leading Australian voices will challenge assumptions, expose why reforms fail, and equip you with the practical systems to rebuild culture, set clear expectations, and lift performance.

Every speaker will tackle the hard truths head-on, provoke new thinking, and provide frameworks leaders can apply immediately to drive lasting change.

What You'll Explore

Leadership Alignment & Decision Practice

Coherence in governance, accountability, and instructional leadership.

Behaviour Systems & Staff Culture

Whole-school behaviour frameworks, productive staff norms, role clarity, and workplace processes.

Staff Wellbeing, Sustainability & Cultural Evidence

Protecting staff energy, building long-term capacity, measuring culture, and safeguarding compliance.

What's at Stake

Culture doesn't change itself; it demands intentional leadership and purpose. At its core, transforming culture means investing in people: the wellness, coherence, and behaviours of adults that shape every student's chance to thrive.

Join us at the Cost of School Culture Summit.

The price of transformation is far less than the cost of standing still.

What will I bring back to my school?

The Cost of School Culture Summit – Sydney, 21–22 May 2026 brings together international keynotes and leading Australian voices who will confront the hard truths head-on. Over two days, participants will examine why reform efforts so often fail and discover the systems and practices required to rebuild culture, set clear expectations, and lift performance.

Every speaker will challenge assumptions, provoke new thinking, and provide practical frameworks that leaders can apply immediately in their schools.

You’ll return with more than insights, you’ll take home practical tools to strengthen culture and leadership in your own setting.

  • Clarity on the cost of culture: a deeper understanding of how misaligned leadership, unclear values, and weak systems undermine reform, staff wellbeing, and student learning.
  • Frameworks you can apply immediately: practical models to rebuild staff culture, protect wellbeing, and align governance, behaviour, and instructional leadership.
  • Strategies for accountability and coherence: approaches to set clear expectations, address resistance, and design systems that sustain change rather than erode it.
  • Evidence you can use with your team: ways to measure cultural impact, safeguard compliance, and build staff capacity for long-term improvement.
  • Renewed conviction to lead: the confidence and intent to invest in people—their wellness, coherence, and behaviours—because these shape every student’s chance to thrive.
